Subject: RE: The English Beat From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 29 Oct 04 - 09:43 PM Michaelr: I yam what I yam. I love reggae.. the usual people as well as much of African reggae. I've always loved rock, then rock and roll, then "independent" rock, soul music, rhythm and blues, jazz and older country music. If you checked my CD purchases, you'd have a hard time categorizing my music: Green Day, Fountains Of Wayne, Jimmy East World, John Coltrane, Duke Ellington, The Stanley Brothers, the O'Kanes... Right now, I'm listening to Bob Mould.. one of the finest songwriters and guitarists I've ever heard. Gospel, too But not Christian music. Or opera. Or rap. I like Black Eyed Peas (the group,) and Love Below. Jerry |

Subject: RE: The English Beat From: Brían Date: 29 Oct 04 - 09:07 PM I can't say this has any athourity, but i found this: Englsh Beat Not Reuniting Brían My brother did a DJ gig at a college radio station and he would give me tapes of such groups. I enjoyed them a lot, although I'm primarily a folkie. |

Subject: The English Beat From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 29 Oct 04 - 08:42 PM I read a rumour that the English Beat is re-uniting. I really liked their recordings and have everything they did (I think.) They morphed into the Fine Young Cannibals, who also fell apart, as far as I know. Any of my English friends now if anything is happening with The English Beat again? Jerry |
