Fantastic, fabulous, marvelous, gradely - What other superlatives can I use? They were all of them! Clive Palmer and Mike Heron from the original line up were joined by Lawson Dando and Fluff for a night I'll never forget:-) The venue certainly helped - I would recommend the Komedia to anyone and the friendly crowd in Brighton made it even better! I never knew there were so many hippies left - even if some of them were only 17;-)

Fluff is the girl I remember from Keele - and a better fidler than the old grey cells gave her credit for. I have never heard such accurate fidling!

Go and see them now! If you have not already...

The support was provided by a young lady called Georgia Seddon - watch out for her as well. What a voice!

Cheers

:D

But you should be honoured, DtG ;-)
I think I was confusing you with that other Folky Dave...

Although the ISB don't have Robin Williamson at the moment because of all his other commitments, they do have founder member Clive Palmer who played only on their debut recording back in the band. He's a fantastic banjo player.

Yes, poor Norma Waterson got a nasty attack of shingles so Martin Carthy turned up on his own her a couple of weeks ago. And last time I saw Mike he was depping for niece Eliza at the Fred Jordan Memorial. I'm looking forward to the gig with Louis Killen, I've heard great things about this duo.

"he manages to get 'bum' into every song:"

Well there's one Waterson song with rather a lot of bums...

Y'know - It's just struck me that I might have met Fluff. I think she (is this one a she?) used to have things to do with Keele Folk Club when my eldest was at uni there. He'e 29 now so we are talking 8-10 years ago. Was she with another folk rock band at one time? I can find a reference to her being in another folk rock outfit - 'Tower Struck Down'. Anyone know?

Cheers

Yorkshireman! How dare you Madam! Born and Bred in Swinton, Lancashire. Only go over the border to loot and pillage;-)

I will keep you informed, CR but as I have not seen 'em before I have no basis for comparison. Saw Mike Waterson who stood in for his sister Norma a couple of weeks back and thought he was brilliant. See if you can spot how he manages to get 'bum' into every song:-)

Cheers

That would be ISB minus Robin Williamson but with that rather good fiddle player known as Fluff? I can't go 'cos we've got Mike Waterson and Louis Killen on home ground. But I'd be interested to hear what you think of the lineup and arrangements. And I'm sorry to miss the rare chance of a free pint from a Yorkshireman!
