I'm no legal expert, but I'm sure if your song gets played on the radio, sells a few copies etc, the radio people can't claim any rights over the song, if they try to, just tell them to piss off.

I'm sure its so they don't have to pay PRS!

Just watch your copyrights folks, it may be that if they play it first, and it takes off they could claim some dosh. Or it could be that they don't want to pay royalties, and they don't have a PRS agreement. Saves them a lot of money, I know the BBC pays thousands of pounds a year to the PRS.
Giok

Seems a bit weird sooz, they want folk to send their cd's, but only certain ones, I suppose they must have their reasons, and it's their station so i suppose their free to set the rules.
If your'e getting played on the radio again, let us know, I have a nice big FM aerial on my roof here, and I can recieve most f the FM stations broadcast in the north of England and the midlands, I can even get BBC Radio Wales when the weather is good!
Plus all BBC Local stations are now available over the internet.

Was all ready to send a CD then until I read through the blurb - only self written material not registered with MCPS or PRS is eligable.
Ah well - a track from our CD was played on BBC Radio GMR last week.

THere's also the musicians channel, it showcases new British artists. I'm not sure how one would go about getting showcased, though. It does tuition programs too.
