Apparenly that's a different Jacques Levy - this web page has a note about his death earlier this year. (Put Chavez in "Find" and it'll scroll to it.)

Is this the same Jacques Levy who edited Cesar Chavez's autobiography? The book is "Cesar Chavez: Autobiography of La Causa." No reference to this in the obit.

Chanteyranger

Didn't know about his passing away either. I don't know much about what else he achieved, but for his contribution to "Desire" he'll be remembered for a long, long time.

I believe he also collaborated with Roger McQuinn on the Byrds' Chestnut Mare. RIP

Thanks Kevin. I never knew much about him, but I have always liked "Isis". It is probably the funniest character sketch I have ever heard on a Bob Dylan album. It is easy to forget that it wasn't just him.

Here's a link to an obituary of Jacques Levy, in today's Guardian who collaborated with Bob Dylan on such sngs as Isis and Hurrucane and a bunch more.

In fact, as the obit indicates, he died back in September, but it doesn't seem to have been noticed much. Strange.
