Subject: RE: Obit: Jacques Levy From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 28 Nov 04 - 03:39 PM Apparenly that's a different Jacques Levy - this web page has a note about his death earlier this year. (Put Chavez in "Find" and it'll scroll to it.) |

Subject: RE: Obit: Jacques Levy From: Peter Kasin Date: 28 Nov 04 - 01:20 PM Is this the same Jacques Levy who edited Cesar Chavez's autobiography? The book is "Cesar Chavez: Autobiography of La Causa." No reference to this in the obit. Chanteyranger |

Subject: RE: Obit: Jacques Levy From: Pete Jennings Date: 27 Nov 04 - 01:13 PM Didn't know about his passing away either. I don't know much about what else he achieved, but for his contribution to "Desire" he'll be remembered for a long, long time. |

Subject: RE: Obit: Jacques Levy From: van lingle Date: 27 Nov 04 - 10:48 AM I believe he also collaborated with Roger McQuinn on the Byrds' Chestnut Mare. RIP |

Subject: RE: Obit: Jacques Levy From: alanabit Date: 27 Nov 04 - 07:45 AM Thanks Kevin. I never knew much about him, but I have always liked "Isis". It is probably the funniest character sketch I have ever heard on a Bob Dylan album. It is easy to forget that it wasn't just him. |

Subject: Obit: Jacques Levy From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 26 Nov 04 - 07:19 PM Here's a link to an obituary of Jacques Levy, in today's Guardian who collaborated with Bob Dylan on such sngs as Isis and Hurrucane and a bunch more. In fact, as the obit indicates, he died back in September, but it doesn't seem to have been noticed much. Strange. |
