Subject: RE: South Bank Show - Folk Music? From: Big Al Whittle Date: 27 Nov 04 - 05:39 PM Oh don't encourage them, you can imagine what it would be like.....everything the ghastly middle classes touch turns into a career opportunity for them and their nauseating kids. Pop has turned from the voice of rebellion and the streets into the stage school luvvies boy band phenomena. The theatre has changed from the angry young men into a subsidised bloody mess. Poetry is stand up comedy , because hey who actually reads nowadays. Wait til they get hold Martin carthy and the Copper family and get them doing a dance routine - give them a yoof makeover - I mean elfin knights, how relevant is that to the kids.......... |

Subject: South Bank Show - Folk Music? From: GUEST,Tunesmith Date: 27 Nov 04 - 10:37 AM I was trying to recall how much coverage - if any - the South Bank TV program has devoted to Anglo-Celtic folk music. Can anyone out there enlighten me? |
