Subject: RE: Seeking music in Atlanta 12/11-12/13 From: Zhenya Date: 06 Dec 04 - 11:52 AM Thanks so much, Mary! This is exactly the kind of thing I was hoping to find! This sounds like it would be interesting for everyone who'll be attending. I saved the pages in favorites to read in detail later today, and will definitely mention it to my relatives, and hope to get to it. Zhenya |

Subject: RE: Seeking music in Atlanta 12/11-12/13 From: GUEST,MEJ (as guest) Date: 06 Dec 04 - 10:06 AM The yearly Celtic Christmas Concert, put on by the Irish department at Emory University, will be held on the 11th and 12th. Traditional Celtic, Southern, Cape Breton, medieval carols from Brittany - singing, instrumental music, dance, theater, storytelling - great for adults and kids. I've gone and really enjoyed it! Links for information: http://biz.yahoo.com/iw/041112/075927.html http://www.thetimesharebeat.com/mis/msnov65.htm Tickets are available through Emory box office: 404-727-5050. Hope you enjoy your vacation here! Mary (MEJ) |

Subject: Seeking music in Atlanta 12/11-12/13 From: Zhenya Date: 02 Dec 04 - 04:42 PM I'll be visiting my brother in Marietta Georgia (Atlanta area) from 12/11 through 12/13. Does anyone know of any interesting traditional music events going on in the area those dates? I'm interested in Irish, Scottish, Old Time, Sacred Harp singing, folk, and related things. I have a 7 year old niece there also, so children's music activities are fine too. Thanks for any information. Zhenya P.S. If you know of any interesting non-musical events on those days, feel free to suggest those too! |
