I'm still not finding the song that's in my head. I even found a record player & played mom's collection of 45s & didn't find it. I'm thinking that the song did not have bubblegum in the name. And I'm back to again thinking it was on the B side of a 45. I'll still trying searching through all the old songs on that allmusic website, but I never recall ever hearing it except on the 45 record. I even headed to St. Vincent DePaul & checked through the 45s there for about an hour or 2 & tried to see if any of them rang a bell. No luck.

allmusic lists 44 recordings called BUBBLEGUM (or BUBBLE GUM). There are at least 15 different songs with that title. Many of them have sound samples. You might try listening to them until you recognize the song you want. When you have more information, please come back here and post it, and maybe someone can help you further.

Sorry. I thought you were saying it sounds like Lollipop, meaning that you thought it might actually be Lollipop, not that is sound similar to the tune of that song.
I do not have a copy of Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits, but I'll see if I can get one to look through it.
Thanks.

No, this isn't the song that I'm thinking of. The song I'm thinking of is about Bubblegum, not Lollipop. It's peppy like the Lollipop song, but that's not the song I'm looking for. Thanks for trying. Do you have any other suggestions?

Well, you aren't delusional. I heard the record on the radio as a child. Probably late 1950s. The "lollipop" in the lyric is a pop culture reference to the song "Lollipop" by the Chordettes; indeed the bouncy melody and singing on "Bubblegum" sounds like the "Lollipop" and the Chordettes.
Check the Billboard Book of Top 40 Hits. Mine's at work or I'd check for you. I'm on vacation.

I have been searching for years to an old song my parents had on one of their 45rpm records. I listened to this song probably around the 70's. I'm not sure if it was on side A or side B. I used to think it was on side B, but now I'm not so sure.

It's a girl singing & she has a winey kinda voice. The song it very fast & peppy.

The only lyrics I know are:

Bubblegum, Bubblegum
Pop pop can't stop,
Better than a lollipop,
Chewin' chewing chewing bubblegum.

Crazy crazy over bubblegum (bubblegum)
....

Thanks for any of your help!!
