I have a Yamaha APX9N which gives off a good plugged-in sound which is what is designed for.

Do you play (or intend to play) classical style on this classical guitar, or do you play more folk style and just want to do it on nylon strings? If the latter, Taylor's nylon-strung guitars are outstanding and within your price range. But I don't think I'd take one of them into a university-level classical guitar class...

In that price range a good used Jose Ramirez R4 Conservatory or Francisco Navarro
Garcia model (Mexico) might be interesting.

Peace

Price range would probably be between $1,000 and $2,000 for a classical guitar.

What sort of price range are you thinking about?
