A full list of all the pubs that have actually applied for (and got)
a PEL under the new regulations would indeed be a useful tool for any body involved in entertainment !!

With our recent history of being exorcised from Sam Smiths pubs and the hassle that goes with finding a new venue in our local area I got to thinking - Is there a sensible way to do this?

With the odd thread like "Suffolk pub wanting players" on mudcat there must be a two way demand. Pubs that would like business - people who would like venues.

Having got bunged out the Blacksmiths Arms we went round and asked and found three pubs that would have us - the Highwayman in Sheriff Hutton that we have settled in is smashing - but until we looked and went to ask I wouldn't have known that the 3 pubs concerned would have even have entertained it.

I'm sure there must be a world out there of publicans who would like more trade and people who would like to offer it.

Does anyone know a sensible way to do this?

Some thoughts come to mind -

Is there an email list of all the pubs in the country that one could ask the question of?

Is there an opportunity as local/national media get involved in the issue of live music to put the two things together?

Doesn't have to be folk - could be anything

I thought I'd start by bunging this off to our local paper as they are covering the Sam Smiths extravaganza at the moment - I'll let you know the response
