Subject: RE: Bellamy Chantey Theatre Query From: Haruo Date: 12 Feb 05 - 02:34 AM Amazon doesn't seem to carry this "Silver" edition. Is there a US distributor for it, or should I email Free Reed and ask for a price quote in dollars including shipping to US, or what? Haruo |

Subject: RE: Bellamy Chantey Theatre Query From: Haruo Date: 11 Feb 05 - 07:35 PM Thanks! It had been described to me as "musical theatre" but apparently the pertinent search term was "ballad opera". Haruo |

Subject: Bellamy Chantey Theatre Query From: Haruo Date: 11 Feb 05 - 01:58 AM Peter Bellamy's Around Me Brave Boys is a recurring favorite at the Northwest Seaport Chantey Sing (next occurrence: tomorrow, Feb. 11, 8pm in the wood shop). One time the song leader (can't recall who) said it was written for a musical theatre play about the good old days of seafaring. After I had forgotten who said that, it occurred to me to want to find that play and see if we could stage it here in Seattle, but I can't find anyone who knows anything definite. Google, too, turns up hints but no hits. Is any Mudcatter aware of such a play, and if so would he or she please post whatever information is available? Thanks, Haruo |
