Subject: Celtic Festival in Pilot Knob MO From: JedMarum Date: 07 Apr 05 - 11:21 PM ... just in case we have any Mudcatters in earshot, or at least driving distance of Pilot Knob MO the Arcadia Valley Highland Games and Celtic Festival will be held at the Fort Davidson State Historic Site from Fri April 9 through Sun April 11. I'll be there on Sat and Sun doing six shows. Alex Beaton is there as well, along with a few regional favorites. There's more info on who's there and other stuff here. The Boatrights are invloved with the running of this event and they are performing. This is a really fine family group that I've run into a time or two at mid-west festivals. Really talented and really nice folks too. I also run into Alex Beaton at the odd festival or two each year. He's a seasoned and well loved performer and I always enjoy seeing him very much. The festival is being held on the Civil War memorial grounds. I will be doing three shows on each day. One of those shows on each day, I'll be doing is called, "The Irish in the Civil War." Here's a sample and some background on the Civil War stuff. The fest sched is here. If you're near enough to visit - please come and say a Mudcat hello. I'd love to see ya! I'm leaving early in the morning and probably will not be around to answer any comments to this thread - so I hope I've provided enough information. More importantly, I hope to see a Mudcatter or two at Pilot Knob!! |
