Len and Barbara have always supported up and coming young folkies all their lives. Superb ambassadors for the folk world and lovely people. If you see them again, give them our love.

Subject: Len & Barbara Berry: a rare glimpse!
From: Mr Happy
Date: 10 Apr 05 - 09:48 PM

At the 'Royal Hill' Edgerley, Nr Nesscliffe, Shropshire, on Friday

I was priveliged to have a refreshing glimpse of the 'Portway Pedlars', Len & Barbara Berry.

Haven't seen 'em for 15years or more but still presenting fabulous classic folk entertainment!

Poor Len's lost his voice, hopefully temporarily- as I remember his renditions in magnificent deep & booming song; but Barbara's still in as good voice as ever.

She performed 'I'm a stranger to this country' accompanying herself with electric piano.

A tremendous song, from the Alfred Williams collection, tune composed by Barbara.

A truly inspiring & refreshing experience.

Anyone else recall these two as the superb 'Portway Pedlars'?
