Subject: RE: ANN: Make It Folky!, 209radio.co.uk From: christianmayne Date: 01 May 05 - 02:30 PM Ah, sounds like you were listening to the last show (which is still popping up in the archive) - we like to upload to the archive the traditonal way by hand which means it doesn't happen until Monday mornings. So just to be clear, you can listen to today's show tomorrow and last weeks show today. Hope that's clear :) As for our station manager complaining about Bellowhead, he also confessed today that he has a deep dislike for Morris Dancers just before I played a couple of William Kimber morris dances. I got a certain sadistic pleasure out of that. |

Subject: RE: ANN: Make It Folky!, 209radio.co.uk From: treewind Date: 01 May 05 - 01:10 PM Oh yes - and the producer who doesn't like mixing brass with trad music can't have heard Brass Monkey! A. |

Subject: RE: ANN: Make It Folky!, 209radio.co.uk From: treewind Date: 01 May 05 - 01:07 PM Listening to it now (slighty after the live broadcast) and very fine it is too. Don't know about that dodgy second track with the Purcell hornpipe in it though... :-) I must get hold of some of those Scan Tester tunes. By the way, Lemmie Brazil was a traveller from whom many tunes were collected in the Gloucestershire area. (that won't mean to anyone who wasn't listening to the programme) Anahata |
