Subject: UK- Cleckheaton FF Event 3rd June 2005 From: GUEST Date: 27 May 05 - 06:52 AM Last concert before the Festival! Featuring acts from both sides of the Pennines, and with exactly one month to go before the Cleckheaton Folk Festival. The last concert in the current programme of fund-raisers takes place at:- The Dewsbury Little Theatre on Friday, June 3rd. Quicksilver No strangers to Festival concert audiences, Quicksilver unites the fine vocals of Artisan's Hilary Spencer with the guitar and song-writing skills of Grant Baynham. Fans of Esther Rantzen's 'That's Life', will remember the musical contribution of humorous and topical songs made by Grant each week. Together, Hilary and Grant draw from their combined musical backgrounds to present an act which takes in both traditional folk, jazz and blues, plus comedy and even the occasional bit of banter with their audience! The Ian Gartside Band From across the Pennines comes The Ian Gartside Band , all set to entertain their audience with a repertoire of traditional songs, suited to audience participation on a grand scale! Four "Young" Men well established in Traditional Music for a number of years (over 45!!), they have a reputation for fine musicianship and the rapport they rapidly gain with their audience. Mark Longster Mark Longster is well known to folk audiences across Yorkshire for his strong, expressive vocals and song-writing skills.
