Subject: RE: What does it mean? From: Joe Offer Date: 23 Jun 05 - 01:10 AM I gave up trying to explain all the features of Mudcat in the FAQ. I use the first ten messages for a general introduction. The remaining messages in the FAQ thread are temporary - worthwhile information from them will eventually be incorporated into the main part of the FAQ. But I figure it's healthy to let people explore the features rather that reading instructions. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: What does it mean? From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 22 Jun 05 - 10:37 PM Some problems after the big crash earlier this month. In Forum search, Threads are ok- Shenandoah Roll On Home is thread 68793, but the messages are scrambled in some from other threads. Example- Forum results 1 should take one to a message by Alaska Mike. Instead, when this link is clicked, one is taken to a different thread, 32196, and a post by Burke about Anna Warner. Message 2 by Radriano is OK, but message 3 is a post by Noreen about "Malcji." Round-about ways of finding posts (some impossible) have to be tried to locate some songs that haven't been canonized and attained DT heaven. |

Subject: RE: What does it mean? From: GUEST,cluthabloke Date: 22 Jun 05 - 09:51 AM Cheers for that Susan... I know nothing BAAD will happen but it's easier to ask the learned who've been around awhile. Seems like a BIG site with lots of topics. |

Subject: RE: What does it mean? From: wysiwyg Date: 22 Jun 05 - 09:16 AM Guest, you will find many, many features here that are not obvious at first. They are described in the FAQ, but also it's a really good idea-- when you see something you never noticed or tried before, just click it. Nothing bad will happen, and the structure of the resources will amaze you once you start exploring whatever is blue and/or or underlined. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: What does it mean? From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 22 Jun 05 - 05:39 AM To amplify - if you click on the thread name you'll get all the posts in the thread. If you click on the blue number you'll get the thread given to you in pages of (I think) 50 posts, with page selectors at the top to let you go to a particular page, or just use the next page link. If you click on the blue d you'll again get the thread in pages, but this time in reverse posting order, so the most recent thread will be at the top of the first page - it's a way to get to the most recent posts on long threads without having to load the entire thread.
