Subject: Lyr Add: OLD IRISH WALTZ From: GUEST,kfischy Date: 12 Sep 02 - 01:57 AM I live in Anchorage Alaska and one of our local singers, Robin Hopper, put out a CD and one of the songs is the "Old Irish Waltz". I don't think anybody else put it out. Here are the lyrics. Now when the country band plays Old Irish waltz Won't you dance with me Tonight ‘neath the stars And we'll dance on the lawn While the moon lingers on When the country band plays That old Irish waltz CHORUS: Shall we dance Dance like the leaves in the wind Never to come to an end Shall we dance Dance for the rest of our lives For the old Irish waltz never dies What is this magical song Why do I feel so free I’m floating and flying While you dance with me We are one we are all And the song is within When we dance on the hill To the old Irish waltz. CHORUS And when the band it stops playing The song lingers on In the mountains and trees And the wind in your hair And we'll dance all our lives Forever tonight When we dance on the hill To the old Irish waltz. CHORUS If you give me your email address. Maybe I can send you a tape or CD with my favorite Scottish and Irish recordings which would include those two songs. Would you like that? |
Subject: RE: Old Scottish Waltz From: Teru Date: 11 Sep 02 - 07:58 AM Greg, I sometimes visit my personal page to check the tracer. I found the answer just by chance. kfischy: Yes, Andy Stewart sang this song. He used to sing a lot of Scottish songs with strong Scottish accent mimicking Sir Harry Lauder. Could you post the lyrics to Old Irish Waltz ? Regards |
Subject: RE: Old Scottish Waltz From: GUEST,kfischy Date: 11 Sep 02 - 01:38 AM The singer's name is Andy Stewart |
Subject: RE: Old Scottish Waltz From: GUEST,kfischy Date: 11 Sep 02 - 01:34 AM I had never heard of the song until a few months ago. I typed the word scottish while searching through the sharing files in WinMx. I actually downloaded the song. I will look in those files again and tell you later who sang it. |
