Subject: Lyr Add: PAPA'S BILLY GOAT From: Date: 27 Dec 98 - 03:59 PM PAPA'S BILLY GOAT Here's another goat flagging song - it was sun to the tune of Rueben and Rachel! Papa bought a great big billy goat Ma she washed most every day - Hung her clothes up on the line That darned old goat he came that way. He pulled down the old flannel shirt You ought to of herd those buttons crack - I'll get even with the son of a gun I'm gonna time him across the railroad track. Tied him across the railroad track The train was coming at a powerful rate - He belched up that old red shirt And he flagged down that darned old freight. Went to the depot and bought me a ticket Walked right in and I sat right down - Stuck my ticket in the brim of my hat And the doggoned wind blowed it out on the ground. Conductor came round and "give me your ticket" I had to pay again or get left on the track - I'll get even with the son of a gun, Bought a round trip ticket and I ain't comin' back. |
