Subject: RE: Obit: Jacky Keir From: Susanne (skw) Date: 25 Jul 05 - 04:16 PM How sad, even though I didn't know Jacky. Far too many 'Obit' threads turning up on the Mudcat, and each and every one a great loss to a great many people. RIP. Jim, do you happen to know if Jacky took part in Gordon McCulloch's 'Glasgow Eskimos' show that was staged during the Glasgow Folk Festival about ten years ago? A tall guy with a good tenor voice (I think). If so, I saw (and heard) him that night, but never before or since. |

Subject: Obit: Jacky Keir From: Jim McLean Date: 20 Jul 05 - 05:53 PM Jacky was well known in the Paisley/Glasgow folk scene in the late fifties and early sixties. He was one of the original Eskimoes and is featured on the cover of Ding Dong Dollar. He died on Tuesday 19th July from Motor Neuron disease. He was the most kind and gentle guy I knew. |
