Subject: RE: font squished problem! From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:43 AM I've just rechecked - the settings thing only controls IM, chat and email. You have to reset the size in Internet Explorer as I said first, then you need to exit AOL and restart it to take effect (this is based on experiment - there may be a better way, but this seems to work; the effect in IE is instantaneous, but it looks as if AOL takes the settings at startup). Subject: RE: font squished problem! From: rumanci Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:36 AM from a keep it simple first person here could it be something even more basic you've done like fiddle with the wheel on the mouse for example ? Try pressing control and re-sizing with the wheel at the same time as your cursor's pointing at the text hey ho back to the experts *g* rum |

Subject: RE: font squished problem! From: Rockhen Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:32 AM Just tried that but it didn't work... It is Aol 9. I think I need to go right back with webbuilding programme and work backwards. Ta heaps for bothering to try to help, anyway. Doesn't help that I am clueless re computers, lol! |

Subject: RE: font squished problem! From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:26 AM On Aol you should get the text settings through Settings, Essentials tab, Font & Text Settings and set the text size to (eg) 10 in the Size box (next to the Font name). (Assuming you're using AOL 9) Mick |

Subject: RE: font squished problem! From: Rockhen Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:20 AM I am using Aol and I have tried to look at the text size but is doesn't appear to have changed on there, I know I've just done something daft somewhere but it is taking me ages to figure out where. Will look again anyhow, to check, ta |

Subject: RE: font squished problem! From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 08 Aug 05 - 09:17 AM If you mean that all pages you view are in small type, then you've probably changed the text size to Small and not reset it. If you're using Internet Explorer you can correct this from the View menu then select Text Size and choose a size (Medium is a good choice!). If you're using another browser there will be a similar option. (I have a couple of others set up). Mick |

Subject: font squished problem! From: Rockhen Date: 08 Aug 05 - 08:47 AM Help, can anyone tell me what I've done wrong...? I was foolishly trying to build my own (very basic!) band website on a webbuilding programme and have somehow managed to squash all my fonts and make them shrink, I've tried a lot of obvious things but not fixed it yet. Any ideas? I am not a techno whizz but the programme didn't seem THAT complicated.Doh! PS the programme was bravehost one BTW |
