So sorry to miss it all, but what a happy happenstance that Gainsboro festival was on, so I was able to stay off the streets and out of trouble! Hope to see you all soon at Swinton, when I can book myself into the Walton Towers Hotel!
Regards, Myrtle.

well, OK, three or four...;-)

Great weekend. Managed to see all the artists for a change - I would go and see them all again tomorrow!

See you there next year. Or maybe tonight at Swinton folk club?

Cheers

Just back from seeing Jez Lowe - What a wonderful performance and what a guy:-)

Must get some sleep before tomorrow. I think we may have a pint or two...

Anywhere that can have a "session" starting at 11 finishing at 12....ish (and I dont mean one hour) with good beer and non stop music that anybody who comes into the pub can join in with is OK by me.
Of course if you wish to see the "acts" that is ok too. Where else can you get that kind of value for money???
See you there!

Sounds a good do - I'll tell folks about it on BBC GMR.

Tickets are now available at £5-00 for the Jez Lowe concert and £5-00 for the Ssaturday evening concerts and £2-50 for the Saturday afternoon concert.

All the rest is free. The 12 hour singaround in the bar is free but can be addictive.

I think I would sooner chase the landlord than the Old Tom anyday. One just gets you P****d the other gets you off the planet. Who's on then?

No camping Mr H but if it is a camper van Geoff the landlord has no objections to it staying on the Car Park.

And, yes, you can come, Spot. As long as you don't chase the Old Tom:-)

Cheers

Yes, Les - I believe it is. Still looks the same as before the war and still wearing the same denims:-) The demon guitar playing is better still. When I went to see Martin Carthy last year I got his autograph on a Swinton festival Program. On seeing that Pete was on Martin commented how good a guitar player Pete was. Some accolade indeed:-)

Cheers

Is that the Pete Ryder from before the war who is a demon guitar player and singer of songs by James Taylor et al before James Taylor became famous?

It's on again!

Yes, folks, it's that time of year once more and for the amazing 21st time (amazing to us - we didn't give it 2!) we are running the annual bash in Swinton. All at the White Lion - Nice and easy. Friday 21st Oct to Sunday 23rd Oct.

Artists booked include JEZ LOWE, HANDS IN POCKETS, GEOFF HIGGINBOTTOM, PHIL HARE, PETE RYDER, TRIO THRELLFALL and TONY DOWNES. See the website for furter details.

Hey - This is the folk worlds best kept secret! Not even us organisers know what is going on half the time;-) Come along and give us a clue...

Cheers
