I am not totally sure that the Transpose and Stem are valid on both the Clef and the Voice definitions - the abc standard doesn't seem too clear and some of the examples appear to contain extra clauses which are not in the definition text.

Also, I don't imagine they are needed in BOTH places, but it is easier and safer to code that than try and work out if already used.

Does anyone want the rest of this in abc? (another 16 bars). I haven't programmed it yet, but could if there was a demand.

Thanks for the feedback.

Maybe I will add an export option to choose between old abc format and abc 2.0. Might be a bit of a problem to untangle it though.

I've run it through versions of abcm2ps (v3.7.0), abc2midi(v1.23) abctools (v1.3) and abcmidi (abcmidifier - v0.9beta) under XP/Pro. (I have several other programs for abc but don't use them). Most complain about the v2 extensions (clef and voice) to the older standard but all read the file and produce the correct (or what seems to be without detailed checking) print out or midi file.

(I haven't checked software status recently, but not much was handling the v2 changes when I last looked; I generally avoid them if possible).

Mick

Just used the Convertamatic on concertina.net http://www.concertina.net/tunes_convert.html and the printed output looked good.
Quack!
Geoff.

When I have transcribed the rest of the tune, I could post a MIDI as well.

Actually, I see now that the picture is 5 bars, not 4. There is also a slight problem in the score - can you see it? Not actually an error, more a quirk.

I have now uploaded a jpg of the first 4 bars including Tablature to my web site www.greenhedges.com

If you go there and move the mouse over the navigation links a few times, it will eventually pop up. There are four tunes selected at random, so you may have to try a few times before you see the right one (Kemp's Jig). (Don't have time for anything better tonight.)

Can you let me have feedback on the TAB format please.
Thanks

Here is a multi-voice abc file of the first 8 bars of Kemp's Jig, arranged for guitar. It was output from the NEXT version of HARMONY, during testing of the tablature function, and is in what I understand to be the latest version, abc 2.0

I would be grateful if all you abc users out there can check to see if it is compatible with the various programs you use, and let me know!

Note that it follows the standard Guitar practice of showing the notes one octave above the actual sound - this is the reason for the MIDI Transpose commands which will correct the playback if the software supports it.

abc file starts here:
