Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Manitas_at_home Date: 17 Nov 05 - 02:18 AM It sounds like a version of the Silverton Polka. |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Cluin Date: 17 Nov 05 - 02:10 AM Sounds like a two-step or a polka. Old-Tyme, maybe Quebecois of Irish or Scottish origin. |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 16 Nov 05 - 09:54 PM Of course there are now two parallel threads. Can we continue the discussion in the one with the more relevant title? Need help identifying a fiddle tune |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Joe Offer Date: 16 Nov 05 - 08:23 PM Yeah, it IS a bit confusing. On the first page that comes up, you have to go to the bottom of the page and click the "free download" button. Then, on the next page, you have to skim past another page4 of text to the bottom, and click the name of the file you want to download. Then it downloads. I wish we had space for mp3's at Mudcat, but we haven't been able to provide for that yet. I downloaded the file and found it plays just fine - but I have no idea what the tune is and I can't understand the talk that introduces it. Nice tune, though. -Joe Offer- |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Dave Ruch Date: 16 Nov 05 - 07:54 PM Thank you all so much! I've got it uploaded to a site now, which is here: http://rapidshare.de/files/7740800/20_Track_20.wma.html I'll also create a separate thread to see if someone can identify it. Thanks again. |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Bill D Date: 16 Nov 05 - 04:43 PM post it here... http://rapidshare.de/, then post the link they give you at Mudcat. |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: treewind Date: 16 Nov 05 - 03:44 PM You can't post it directly into a Mudcat thread, but if you have a web site you can upload it there and post a link to it on Mudcat. If you knew ABC you could post the tune that way, but if you knew ABC you'd have thought of that already! Anahata |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Brakn Date: 16 Nov 05 - 03:43 PM I don't think you can post MP3s. Perhaps you could email it to one of those that know. |

Subject: RE: How do I post an MP3? From: Clinton Hammond Date: 16 Nov 05 - 03:42 PM You need to have web space where you can upload the mp3... (Your ISP probably give you a few megs of web space... if not there are lots of 'free' services available online) Then you start a thread here with a link to it.... easy peasy... :-) |

Subject: How do I post an MP3? From: Dave Ruch Date: 16 Nov 05 - 03:40 PM I need help identifying the title of a fiddle tune, and maybe the best way to do this would be to post an MP3 file in a new thread? Does anyone know how to do this, or have another idea? |
