Subject: RE: Chapters? From: bbc Date: 15 Jan 99 - 08:41 AM Duane D. & I have been wondering if there are others in our area (1 hr N of New York City, Westchester County, NY) who would like to get together for informal evenings of music. We are not professional musicians, but do like to play & sing & would love to meet some of you. If you are within range, drop me a note: bbc's email address. The livingroom's heated & I'll give you tea & cookies! bbc :)

Subject: RE: Chapters? From: Steve Parkes Date: 15 Jan 99 - 03:47 AM I've been tempted to suggest that we should all wear a Mudcat lapel pin, or have a secret sign or something, so we can find fellow 'Catters in strange places (do 'Catters hang around strange places? - Oh, you know what I mean). But maybe there's enough of that kind of thing already. Still, it would be nice to meet face to face now and then. Maybe a stall at festivals and the like? Well, if there are any of you around either Bedfordshire or Staffordshire, you can look me up. Steve |

Subject: RE: Chapters? From: KingBrilliant Date: 14 Jan 99 - 12:46 PM Brilliant idea. There must be quite a few places where there are multiple mudcateers. I don't think there's anyone near me tho. BUT, how about posting whenever anyone plans going to a festival or concert they think might interest other cats & perhaps meet up there (or just to advertise the event. That might achieve a similar end for the geographically challenged. The big folkie fests I know of in my reach are Towersey in Oxfordshire & the big Sidmouth one. Anyone go to those two at all? Or know of any other really good ones? Best of luck getting a local Chapter going.

Subject: Chapters? From: Vixen Date: 14 Jan 99 - 11:34 AM Dear Mudcats-- All the threads about where we live, how old we are, what we do, and what type of condoms we prefer lead me to believe that there might be some interest in meeting (better yet, playing!!!) face to face. I don't really care if you weigh 100 (stone, kg, lbs) or whether you're a toe-jam pathologist or an orchestra conductor...I like to get together with like-minded humans and make music. Anybody got any ideas? Maybe Local Mudcat Chapters, with no meeting dates or officers, but a jam-friendly venue where you're likely to meet other mudcats for music? In the meantime, I'll be wearing my mudcat tee-shirt to every musical thing I go to, in hopes of meeting some of you. V |
