Subject: RE: George Papavgeris - W Abbey Folk Club - 9 Jan 06 From: breezy Date: 10 Jan 06 - 04:25 AM I can understand how he has the audience in tears, its his bladder stretchers just before the interval and folks are just too polite to leave usually. And what did he offer you all? |

Subject: RE: George Papavgeris - W Abbey Folk Club - 9 Jan 06 From: Lanfranc Date: 09 Jan 06 - 07:13 PM El Greko in fine form and voice. Almost had the audience in tears at one point! He just gets better. Didn't have time for "Sir Patrick Spens", so bought one of George's CDs as a consolation prize. Alan |

Subject: RE: George Papavgeris - W Abbey Folk Club - 9 Jan 06 From: Leraud Date: 09 Jan 06 - 08:44 AM That's rather unlike Breezy. He doesn't usually go all round the houses. |

Subject: RE: George Papavgeris - W Abbey Folk Club - 9 Jan 06 From: Singing Referee Date: 09 Jan 06 - 08:35 AM Then I assume that Breezy is suggesting in his usual rather obtuse way that you show up on Sunday at the Comfort to advertise your wares in front of the bloke who books the guests. |

Subject: RE: George Papavgeris - W Abbey Folk Club - 9 Jan 06 From: Lanfranc Date: 09 Jan 06 - 05:47 AM We'll be there! For once the lovely Lynne has booked a guest on a night that I am not involved in running that other Folk Club that I am no longer allowed to mention in her presence or in the presence of anyone who might otherwise attend the Waltham Abbey Club! George, just do what you do best, they are reasonably eclectic at WA, albeit with a penchant for the longer ballads. One day I'll regale them with a REALLY long song ("Desolation Row", "Visions of Johanna", "Love Chronicles", "Sir Patrick Spens" or something like that.) Alan |
