There are a lot of such tunes at this site. Unless you read French, I am not sure the titles would mean much, but you might hear the right tune.

Good luck!

I have been looking for lyrics/recording of a medieval french song of the troubador tradition for some time. All I remember is that it was a complaint/lament by a person of lowly status having been harrassed by the local Lord's ('seigneur') dogs ('chiens') and beaten by clubs ('batons') when coming across a aristocratic hunting party. The version I heard was played on harps & recorder/pipes with a very strong vocal lead, instrumental break in the middle, and was from an old manuscript.
Not much to go on, I know, but can someone get me started?
