Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Feb10th 06 From: Rockhen Date: 11 Feb 06 - 05:46 AM Another really enjoyable night. We had a great time. Is great to play to such a receptive audience. Hate to say it, cos it will make his head bigger, but we enjoyed giving Twangy's song an airing...he writes great songs and we did ask permission honest...but just didn't warn him we would be giving it a go last night...that one really could use a (excuse the swearing,) guitar on it but he is suprisingly bashful. I hope to murder another of his songs before long...(sorry to more long-suffering singing partner...meant the piano playing not his great vocals!) We enjoyed the chance to sit back and listen after our set. Gin and Tonic were brilliant as usual...happy Birthday to the lady in question! It was nice to hear some performers I hadn't heard before. I enjoyed Tina's songs and was good to some original material. Shanty Jack was a real character and got everyone singing along. He had some good stories, too. Winter Wilson were great, too. I particularly enjoyed the bluesy ones. Thanks for another great night, Villan. The variety is a real plus. |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Feb10th 06 From: Rasener Date: 11 Feb 06 - 04:38 AM An excellent night of entertainment from start to finish. Its a shame there weren't more in the audience. I shall wait for the Royal Reporters Review of performers - so get that pen to paper Twangy. |

Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Feb10th 06 From: Rockhen Date: 10 Feb 06 - 09:15 AM We will be travelling under own steam cos my baby takes up too much room (no, haven't been keeping anything secret...my piano, i mean!)HK all ready for the graveyard spot, Villan! Will be nice to sit back and listen afterwards! |
Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Feb10th 06 From: Rasener Date: 10 Feb 06 - 12:50 AM Spring will be upon us soon Tim, and the warmer weather, so you will be hot all the time - How many women say that to you then LOL See you and missus there tonight, in good voice I hope. Subject: RE: Market Rasen Folk Club Friday Feb10th 06 From: Tim theTwangler Date: 09 Feb 06 - 08:17 PM Glad to hear you are on the mend, did I mention that as soon as the room is warmed up I start moaning about how hot it is? Also specialise in complaing that I cant hear people performing or alternatively that it is far too loud! Actualy is spot on because Les arranges seating according to the artistes PA requirements or more usualy lack of such. But mustnt let on that he does a good job or he might get a good reputation and get poached away to another club. |
