Good question, SRS. I haven't found a recording of the original (1897) Rimsky-Korsakov version, although there are many available. The first popular recording of the song was 1921, by Paul Whiteman and his Orchestra; but I think the best-known recording is the one from 1937 by Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra - it's included on dozens of jazz and big band compilations, and I'm sure you'd recognize it right off. All I know about the Lanza recroding is that he made it in 1953.
