Subject: RE: El Greko & Cloudstreet-Sydney Sun Apr 9 From: Herga Kitty Date: 15 Apr 06 - 01:01 PM We're having a quiet Easter weekend avoiding traffic, so we've been enjoying playing and replaying "For my next trick" (first chance I've had to listen to it properly since the album launch). Hope George and Vanessa are selling lots of copies down under, and having a great time - sorry you missed Martyn Wyndham-Read and Iris Bishop last Monday, though! Kitty |

Subject: RE: El Greko & Cloudstreet-Sydney Sun Apr 9 From: JennyO Date: 09 Apr 06 - 11:02 AM It was an absolutely wonderful concert - George was wonderful, Cloudstreet were wonderful - even the floorspots were wonderful! Pity the poor people who weren't there! I can't quite think what to say right now - feeling a bit tired and emotional - so I think I'll go to bed. Got lots to do in the next few days, including getting all the camping gear ready for the National, and meeting Al and Barbara (Spindrift) tomorrow for breakfast at Badde Manors. I think they like us :-) Jenny |

Subject: RE: El Greko & Cloudstreet-Sydney Sun Apr 9 From: JennyO Date: 08 Apr 06 - 01:18 PM Manly is on Sydney's Northern Beaches. They're all lean, tanned and muscled over there. I don't live near a beach. The nearest bit of water to us is the Cooks River, and I don't think swimming in it is recommended :-I |

Subject: RE: El Greko & Cloudstreet-Sydney Sun Apr 9 From: JennyO Date: 08 Apr 06 - 11:19 AM Not long now - it's tomorrow! Looks like we have a couple of good floorspots lined up as well. Still some seats available at the door, Sydney cats, in case you didn't get round to booking. And as Charlie says - bring money for the CD. I can guarantee you'll want one! Jenny |

Subject: RE: El Greko & Cloudstreet-Sydney Sun Apr 9 From: Charley Noble Date: 06 Apr 06 - 08:36 PM El Greko is one of the finest songwriters to come along in ages, and he's also a powerful performer. If you have an opportunity to attend this concert do, and also bring money for purchasing his CD's or you'll be very sorry. He sings a good story! Cheerily, Charley Noble |

Subject: El Greko & Cloudstreet-Sydney Sun Apr 9 From: JennyO Date: 05 Apr 06 - 12:05 AM Us Oz folks are about to get lucky, with El Greko and Cloudstreet here for the National Folk Festival. The Sydney folks are even luckier, because as a warm up, they are also doing a special concert for us at my folk club in Sydney, North By Northwest Folk Club, this Sunday afternoon April 9th at 2pm. It is at the Cornucopia Cafe, which is in the grounds of the Old Gladesville Hospital, corner of Victoria Rd and Punt Rd. If you are not familiar with the place, you might need to PM me for directions - and any other details (or email me if you have my email address). I'm taking bookings, so if there are any Ozcats out there who aren't on the list yet - better let me know! Also, as a warm up to the warm up, and to give visiting shanty singers and mudcatters Spindrift (Barbara and Al Cuenin) a taste of our warm Aussie hospitality, John and I are having a BBQ and session here at Earlwood this Friday the 7th, starting around 6pm. Again, if you need more details, PM or email me! Should be a good night, with tasty food and music under the coloured lights - there's plenty of gas for the barbie, ready for the roo steaks, and a new tarp has been erected which hopefully won't blow down :-) Don't you wish you were here, Charlie?
