Subject: RE: NexTradition Concert Friday, May 5, 2006 From: bbc Date: 05 May 06 - 11:34 PM Well, folks, I'm just home from the concert & it *was* wonderful!!! Listening to their cd, I had forgotten how much fun it is to see them in person. I agree w/ everything that folks said earlier in this thread (&, btw, I printed it out & gave it to Ken & Alison, since you couldn't be there!). We didn't have as large an audience as I would have liked, but what we had made up for it in enthusiasm. I suspect that only a few had heard NexTradition before, but I feel quite sure that, given the opportunity, they will, again! It is equally as much fun to watch them sing as to hear them; the way they move to the rhythm of the work songs & chanteys is just great; they blew me away! And, yes to the nice variety of songs & the fabulous way their voices blend. I think I saw them 2 years ago at Old Songs, but, tonight, first row, was truly a delight! For me, a large part of enjoying music is feeling that the performers are likeable folks & that they are enjoying what they do. That went for Ken & Alison in full measure. Thanks to both for sharing their gifts w/ us. By all means, see them when you get the chance! best, Barbara |

Subject: RE: NexTradition Concert Friday, May 5, 2006 From: Ferrara Date: 03 May 06 - 03:36 PM Yeah, Ken and Alison put on a terrific show. Their choice of songs is great, they have tremendous energy and intensity, their harmonies are superb, their timing is terrific, their voices are rich and strong, and they are just so much fun to be around! Once in a while their schedule permits them to get to our FSGW Getaway, and it's always a treat to have them there. Hope it's a great evening. |
