From his website soundclips he sounds just like James Taylor, both voice and guitar style and also the type of tunes. And I mean exactly like JT. Now, you can take that either as a plus or a minus - it's a plus in my book, not because I am looking for a tribute artist, but because that style and voice simply appeal to me. And listening to excerpts from his live album he seems as good out of the studio as he is in it.

His lyrics look good too. Sure, he has harnessed his songs to serve his God, and if you look at the giglist it consists almost exclusively of churches.. But the songs don't ram religion down your throat, they are more humanist in content - again, something that appeals to me.

What I don't know (and I am waiting for some of our US brethren to answer this) is how he structures a show, what patter he uses and therefore how much of a "sermon" one might expect - too much and he might alienate some punters. But if he kept intros to 1 minute and sang more songs, I'd pay to see him.
