Subject: RE: Threshold Choir - passing over music - Today Show From: Elmer Fudd Date: 11 Aug 06 - 08:49 PM Thanks for posting this, Kat. I don't watch much TV so I hadn't seen this. Lovely. Is your desire to sing for people in transition coming to fulfillment? Elmer |

Subject: RE: Threshold Choir - passing over music - Today Show From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 11 Aug 06 - 08:08 PM Thanks for sharing that, Kat. It's quite beautiful. One of my favorite sayings of my Mother's is "Life is making memories, so make the best ones that you can." Jerry |

Subject: RE: Threshold Choir - passing over music - Today S From: katlaughing Date: 11 Aug 06 - 06:35 PM You are most welcome, Jerry. I was hoping someone would come in and give it a listen. I hope I have the grace of your mother when it comes my time to go. Thanks for sharing with us. Her comment about turning the pages reminded me of what my granddad wrote: Life Is A Book Life is a book in volumes three The Past, the Present, the Yet To Be The first is finished and laid away The second we're reading day by day The third and last of the volumes three Is locked from sight; God keepeth the key. - P. Subject: RE: Threshold Choir - passing over music - Today S From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 11 Aug 06 - 06:11 PM Thanks so much for sharing this, Kat: The timing was beautiful. I just wrote an e-mail to my two sons, telling them about a conversation I had with my Mother this afternoon. Mom is "Packing up, getting ready to go." She turned 99 on June 5th, and Ruth and I were there to celebrate with her and the rest of the family. Even though she had lost a lot of strength in the last year, she managed to muster enough to enjoy two birthday parties, a concert I did for the residents, going for a beloved ride in the country and going out to eat with old friends. Since then, she has been slip-sliding away. She spends most of her time sleeping now, and is very weak. When I asked her how she was doing she said, "I'm just turning the pages now, and each one is a good one." She will leave this earth the way she walked it for so many years: in faith and love. Subject: Threshold Choir -Today Show Video online From: katlaughing Date: 11 Aug 06 - 10:55 AM I have not watched it, yet, but Kate Munger's "Threshold Choir," which has been mentioned here before by Elmer Fudd, was featured on a segment of the Today show back in June. I don't watch the show, but was looking for a story they had done when I found the link to the video about the women's choir in San Francisco. Here's the link, scroll down to "Nurturing the Spirit." kat |
