If you want another great Canadian singer who isn't much known, try Diamond Joe White. His CD "Honestly" is a re-recorded release of his first LP's, and in fact they sound better than the originals. Writes his own stuff, except for a version of Buffalo Skinners I've only heard him sing, and he's very much the cowboy.

hi, barbara: here I am back again, foot firmly planted in mouth. I don't know what it was on his website that gave me the idea he was 72 but it sure wasn't his capsule biography.
I finally got my monitor back from Apple so I don't have to keep stealing my wife's to check out the 'cat and all you fine people. I barely had time to lurk during the great condom crisis, and God (okay, Gargoyle?) knows what else I missed. --seed

Hey Seed, welcome back. Looks to me like Bob was born in 1946, which doesn't make him 72, unless I'm 71. I think you somehow added 20 years. Neat musician, tho. I've sung his "Show us the Length" -- heard it from John McCutcheon. Definitely in your face, as songs go. Thanks for the site info.
Blessings,
Barbara

A week ago on one of KPFA's great Sunday line up of roots music shows I heard several songs from Bob Bossin who was in the studio performing some live and some from his cd and talking to the host. My wife was trying to get some help on something she was writing and I missed hearing how to find his music so I called the station. He was still there and was happy to talk and gave me his website:

www.island.net/~oldfolk/

I checked out the site yesterday and was amazed to find that Bob is even older than I am--he's 72, and what's amazing is that one of his songs that really moved me was written for his as yet unborn child. Hearing Bob for the first time was much like hearing Art Thieme, great singing and guitar playing, with the added attraction of Bob's truly wonderful original songs. --seed
