Subject: RE: Tune Req: 'Murder By Decree' (1978) From: Elly Date: 09 Sep 06 - 01:30 PM Yes, it does sound like the composers took this as an influence, although only the first few bars. Thank you! The melody composed for the film is so lovely, it really sounds like a folktune in its own right. Thank you for the help. Sincerely, Elly |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: 'Murder By Decree' (1978) From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 08 Sep 06 - 05:35 PM It's years since I've seen it, but I gather that Flowers of the Forest, played on bagpipes, was used in the funeral scene. Mind you, I don't recall where in the film that was. |

Subject: Tune Req: 'Murder By Decree' (1978) From: Elly Date: 08 Sep 06 - 04:52 PM Hello! Will someone please help me? I am looking for the name of the (I assume) Scottish tune used at the end of the 1978 film "Murder By Decree". Soundtrack by Paul Zaza Carl Zittrer; in the DVD commentary for the film director Bob Clark mentions the use of traditional Scottish tunes, but fails to mention the names of those tunes. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Elly |
