I'd really thought that Linda Thompson had fallen on her feet - with a vengeance - when she received an Oscar nomination for writing one of the Whitney Houston songs in the 1992 move "The Bodyguard". I just checked the details and I was wrong; it's another - US - Linda Thompson. Ents unions' rulings about name confusions obviously don't apply cross-Atlantic.

(On a similar theme, anyone who knows London fiddler, crooner and Clark Gable lookalike Bobby Valentino might be amused by the existence of a US R&B star of the same name....)

I belive she now lives in Glasgow, or that area. You could try contact via Topic Records, that's who relased her latest album.

Yes, she was originally called Pettifer but changed her name to Peters when coming to London to do voiceovers and ads. I think it was an Equity thing.

Yes she is. The duo with Paul McNeill wasn't all that short-lived. They were Troubadour residents for quite a while and made at least one recording.

Simple request really: Was Linda Thompson Nee Peters the same Linda that used to sing with Paul McNeil in the late 60's. It may have only been a short collaboration, but they did at least one gig in Southampton.
