Thanx Snuffy,

That is the Miners' Arms, Silecroft venue I was looking for.

Cheers

Multimap leads me to Silecroft, Greysouthen near Workington.

Is this the correct location for the venue?

A postcode for the Miner's Arms would help to confirm this perhaps.

Hello Greg! Nice to meet you!! I'll probably do "Martin said to his man" and maybe "The Shearin's no' for you." Perhaps a story also - Taffy is my mentor.

GUEST: see you in Tweedies bar, Grasmere, Fri or Sat night. I'll be the one singing "Pass the Jug Round", which was Tweedie's(Micky Mosscrop's) big number in ye olde days.

Taffy's storytelling festival is on on Sunday too. Other guests include Spud and Yam, Peter Chand and Duncan Williamson.   I'll be there from Friday evening onwards, hoping for a spot to either sing or tell at the pub. Just wondering what I haven't packed; I often forget something. Last time (for Whitby Folk Week) it was my knickers!!!

Encouraged, rather than allowed! I shall sing "Pass the Jug Around" and "Putting on the Style"...and a load of other stuff too no doubt.

Impromptu gig, set up at short notice. The Boat Band will be hosting a session at the Miner's Arms, Silecroft, Cumbria. Starting at 5, or maybe 6PM,to be family friendly. Goes on till nobody left standing. Any music welcome, we'll be doing English, cajun, whatever.
We chose the time 6PM to allow anyone time for a walk beforehand leading smoothly to the session in daylight: Black Combe can be conveniently climbed from the pub carpark, or the less adventurous can equally well walk on the beach (along to the King Billy in Kirksanton is a nice one for the thirsty).
Taffy Thomas is also organising a story-telling festival in Grasmere on Friday and Saturday, which includes plenty of music as well. Sorry, cant do blue clickies, but a quick google will find it. That bloke from the Incredible String Band is going to be at the Grasmere do, but I cant remember his name at the moment. We none of us get any younger.
