Subject: Concert in East Durham on Oct. 7, 2006 From: fidilkid Date: 04 Oct 06 - 12:46 PM Just wanted to let folks know that there will be a steller Trad Irish concert on Saturday, October 7 7:30 PM in the O'Connell Lounge at The Ferncliff Resort. The weekend Tionol (or teaching/gathering) begins on Friday evening, Oct. 6 and goes through Monday, Oct. 9. For details on classes, sessions, reed-making, etc., please visit www.eastcoastpipers.com. The highlight is an amazing concert of traditional Irish music featuring master Uilleann pipers Tommy Keane, Marion McCarthy, and Michael Cooney, and internationally renowned fiddle players Patrick Ourceau and Kevin Crehan, grandson of the renowned Co. Clare fiddler/composer Junion Crehan. From toe-tapping reels to airs that search the soul, the traditional music of Ireland comes alive in this intimate evening concert. $15. Where is it?
