Subject: SharonA in Quakertown & Glenside PA 10/7 From: SharonA Date: 05 Oct 06 - 06:55 PM I've got a couple of gigs this Saturday, October 7th. Come on out if you can; I'd love to meet more Mudcatters! During the day, I will be playing at the Quakertown (Pennsylvania) "Autumn Alive" Arts Fest on an outdoor stage, on Broad Street in the "old" section of town (Route 313, east of Route 309). I'll be performing as a member of the Bucks County Folk Song Society, and more specifically as a member of the folk/blues/bluegrass trio "Jacobs Creek", from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. We'll be playing some standards such as San Francisco Bay Blues, Foggy Mountain Breakdown and Rocky Top, plus original songs (some written by me, some by my bandmate Nick). Other BCFSS members will be performing their own sets through the day. Here's a map: X marks the spot where we'll play. When you zoom in on this map, you'll see two X's marking two spots. The X where we'll be playing is the one on West Broad Street between 2nd and 3rd streets. In the evening of Oct 7th, I'll be the opening act at a house concert in Glenside, PA (again, just east of Route 309, but further south, much closer to Philadelphia). I'll be opening for Don White from Massachusetts, funny-story-teller and funny-song-singer extraordinaire, so I was asked to come perform some of my own funny/punny original songs (but Don gets all the money -- $12 admission). Should be an evening of high spirits... topped off by a post-concert jam. The house concert starts at 8:00 p.m. and I'll play for the first half-hour or so. If you go, arrive early so you can find a parking space on the street! Also, the hosts ask that you bring a snack to share that doesn't require heating or other preparation... and bring your instruments for the jam! Call to pre-register and get directions. See more info here: Glenside House Concerts Hope to see you there! Sharon |
