Yeah, let's just sit back and let this play out a bit. I know many of these folks, and it will work itself out. It's kind of like trying to be the Chairman of a Wobbly convention......LOL. Just give them time, they will arrive at consensus.

Mick

Cooler heads will prevail, I am sure. I like and admire these folks--the ones I know, anyhow. Ron. thanks for your take on this.

And a peaceful New Year to all!!

There were concerns raised about accounting processess - and no one was accused of wrong doing, just a decision on how it should be handled. From what I can see, the communication of the the resolution is now part of the issue plus a difference of opinion on how it was done - and was it necessary.

There are a number of people fanning the flames, and not enough information being floated yet to make an educated opinion.   Even the title of this thread can be misleading. I know and respect many of the people on both sides of the issue, but I am struggling with this one.

Don't believe everything you read at this point. An organization of this type has a lot of issues and serves a variety of constituents. It is more complicated than it appears.

I agree with Art - time will tell.

I've been waiting and watching, hoping things will resolve. As a lifetime member, I would dislike having to resign. Time will tell.

Big time meltdown happening at the Folk Alliance.

It seems the Board Of Directors weren't happy with everything Louis Meyers, the Executive Director was doing so they stripped some of his powers and hired consultants to supervise the staff.

Some of Louis' friends, led by Anne Saunders of Falcon Ridge FF and Vic and Reba Heyman revolted. Lots of name calling and innuendos that made the Republicans and Democrats in Congress look tame.

The latest is that Mark Moss, the Editor of Sing Out has resigned as Folk Alliance Treasurer.

Who said folkies all get along?
