The road from Tulsa to Coffeyville ain't bad ... a smallish highway. It gets down to a couple of lanes, but it moves pretty well. So Bartlesville and Collinsville appear to within range, if there's something going on on those nights.

Collinsville OK is about 23 miles straight N of Tulsa, and on a "freeway" (multilane each way) road (US 169), so it should be pretty easy to get to from Tulsa if there's anything going on there.

It's actually just off the main road between Coffeyville KS and Tulsa OK, a little closer to Tulsa. My rather dated map shows the multilane only extends about 20 miles N out of Tulsa, but the highway, even if 2-lane the rest of the way should be pretty good, and may even have been improved since my map program came out (1997).

I know of some musicians in Bartlesville and Collinsville, Oklahoma, which are in the Tulsa neighborhood, I think. I'll see if I can get in touch and find out what they have to say. There's lots of country and bluegrass in Collinsville, I think, but I don't know about celtic/Irish ...

Coffeville and Tulsa are about 75 miles apart, probably an hour to drive between them. I'm not familiar with that road, but it's likely not really a freeway.

There aren't any towns in the immediate vicinity that are any bigger than Coffeyville and Tulsa.

That particular corner of Oklahoma probably offers several Indian Casinos in almost anyplace they could sit one down; but I don't know of any players active in the area.

Several of the towns in the area have (or have had) small Jucos (Junior Colleges) that might have clubs, but I don't know exactly what's there or what's active. Perhaps a Google for the Chamber of Commerce in either place might ident a school that would have a club list(?).

It's only about 195 miles from Coffeyville to Manhattan, where the Kansas State Univ crowd has some pretty active players ...

I'll be in Coffeyville KS from Jan 29-Feb 2 (2007) and have Tue and Wed open ... there must be a good Irish or BG/folk session going somewhere within an hour's driving distance, eh? Any suggestions? I could sit in my hotel room and watch 3 more cases of COLD CASE or DISCOVERY HEALTH - but I'd rather be out pickin' somewhere ...
