In light of the fact that Mary Cliff will not be able to play Danny's CD and promote his concert, I'm taking the liberty of refreshing it here.

Danny Knicely, brilliant Old Time/Bluegrass/World Instrumentalist will have a CD Release Concert at The Old School House in Waterford, VA on Feb 10. Mark your calendar. Showtime will be 8-10 with doors opening at 7, followed by a jam session with some great players. Located at High and Fairfax Streets, The Old School House is a historic builiding in a historic town.
Ticket price is only $15 and that includes a complimentary CD! The line up will be Danny himself, plus Zan McLeod, Ralph Gordon, Rex McGee, and Nate Leath (an incredible young fiddler), and Matthew Olwell (percussive dancer). Whether it's the mandolin, fiddle or guitar, Danny will lift your eyebrows and keep them there.
If you can imagine a virtuoso Bluegrass and Old Time Mandolinist from the Shenandoah Valley who is strongly influenced by Celtic and traditional Himalayan music, you're starting to get the idea!
Here's a review of "Roots and Branches", Danny's new, CD from Tim O'Brien:
"Danny Knicely's bluegrass and old time roots run deep, and I've enjoyed jamming with him through the years. His fiddle feeds flatfooters, and his guitar drives hard, but it is his fluid mandolin that takes the spotlight here. This adventurous CD travels from community dance, through bluegrass festival campground, to late night club. There are tributes to Bill Monroe and Kenny Baker, a jazzy version of "Utpik Waltz," and several fine originals, including the newgrassy "Salt Run" in seven-four time. Thankfully avoiding Protools slickness, these grooves are intimate and alive, and the sound is big and round. The band can and does stretch out, displaying virtuosity as well as humor in the process. With this CD, Danny shows he's as much fun to listen to as he is to play with."
Tim O'Brien

Take it from Tim, and me, this is one concert you won't want to miss. PM me for info...

cheers,
Chance
