In the Christopher Plummer film of 1989, "Souvenir", we see a village band complete with hurdy-gurdies playing a French folk tune, and children dancing. This in 1944; and again a new generation dancing to hurdy-gurdies in the eighties. I'm wondering if anyone can tell me what the dance/music was. I assume it's a real folk dance, and maybe from Oradour, site of the original tragedy; any I was fair charmed with the thing, and thought about getting a recording.....
