Today ( inspired by a hike in the hills ( As a boy in Germany, where people often sang as they hiked, I got used to thinking of music and marching while hiking in the hills), I thought of these lyrics ( to the tune of the popular German/Austrian Radetzky March by Johann Strauss: You can hear this march on You Tube or my "Joseph Rodgers/Bridgeport"Facebook page, where I also wrote the notes to the simple ditty: As you can hear there, the trad. melody is usually in d, and after a 3-note intro., the first notes are 12 F-sharp notes --in clusters of 3 or four notes, followed by G B AA)) -- I really had a great time singing this "fusion" number ( a combo of a popular German marching tune and topical American lyrics), and thought I should share it with others, who might also enjoy it while hiking . I fantasize that boy scouts might sing this while marching, and/or that the "Resistance" to Trump may one day sing it while marching on the White House or ( better yet) celebrating Trump's removal from office --Be that as it may, I hope you guys like it ( Previously I greatly enjoyed your comments on my mus. group's topical song "I'm in Love with Sarah Palin," which had a good run in the media, etc.during the McCain/Palin/Obama election. --BTW, do tell me if anyone chooses to play/sing it or ( be my guest) record it .
