Subject: Origins: German carol now called 'Singers, Sing'
From: leeneia

Back when I was in a Catholic choir, we sang from inexpensive paperback hymnals that changed every year. In one of those books was an archaic tune that they said was a 12th-century German carol.

Somebody had written new lyrics, and the new title was 'Singers, sing.'

I copied the tune into my computer, and by golly, I found it after all these years. I'm going to play it for communion tomorrow. Is anybody familiar with this song or know anything about it? There can't be that many melodies around that are that old.

If anybody is interested, I can send the MIDI in for posting.
