THE SEASON FOR GIVING

The deepness of Winter is with us again
Our hearts fill with gladness as we're all warm within.
'Tis the season for giving and the joy it can bring
Will soon be upon us. It's the reason we sing!
We sing with delight as we think of our friends,
Our neighbors, our colleagues, our family, our kin.
We hope that they know, with words left unspoken,
Each gift that we're giving is merely a token.
We toast our good fortune as another year ends.
Our glasses are raised as we honor our friends.
And the memories flow when we think of those missing,
Whose absence we notice while we're reminiscing.
The most treasured gift, the best gift of all,
Comes not from a jeweler, a store, or the mall.
It is not wrapped in paper, with ribbons and glue.
A wonderful gift is just simply you!
We cherish this season, which fades all too fast.
The child deep within us wants each Christmas to last!
The gift most remembered, some say, came from above.
It's the one we keep giving: the great gift of Love!
