Subject: Lyr Req: My ancient father From: GUEST,Bobby Bob, Ellan Vannin Date: 28 Nov 25 - 02:19 PM In a manuscript collection of the late nineteenth century, a tune is given with four lines - My ancient father has often times told me That my wicked ways would ruin me quite But I never heed him in what he would say to me Among the sailors I took my delight. I haven't been able to place them, so if anyone can suggest where they might be from, I'd be extremely grateful. Lhiuish, Bobby Bob |
