Subject: Thanks To Bonnie, RY, & Taj

I have gotten so much from the music of Bonnie Rait, RY Cooder, and Taj Mahal over the last 30 years that I thought a thread on cross refferencing thier gifts to us all might be fun..The relationship between them brought many of us to realy hunger for the music we talk so passinatly about here.I dont see them mentioned much at the Mudcat and have always wondered why. I think the first slide work that inspired me as a young player was Ry Cooder's "Billy The Kid". Most everything off "Into The Purple Valley" realy hits home for me. In the same breath Bonnie Rait's "Give It Up" just sends me off the edge as well!!!!Great slide work !!! I would not be playing banjo today if it was'nt for Taj's "The Old Folks At Home"I once heard Patric Sky taught Taj to play frailing banjo, Thanks P.Sky Any thoughts??? All the best to you all.
