Subject: Lyr Req: Rose, Thistle and Shamrock From: GUEST Date: 01 May 04 - 09:02 PM Can anyone help? I'm search of some lyrics to a song where the chorus (roughly) goes: The red rose is one, The thistle it is two, The dear little shamrock three. And proudly they rest, On an Englishman's breast, The pride of the brave and the free. This might be a well-known poem, I don't know... but I've searched in vain for it. There are a couple of other songs with the same title, one a 19th century broadside, the other a song by William Allen, but the words are totally different. any ideas? |
