The Amon Duul thread brought to mind the French-German (I think) band Faust who recorded in the early 70s. One of their albums was issued on clear vinyl, with a see-through cover. Trippy music, too. I remember they were one of the, if not the, first bands to attempt quadrophonic sound in concert.

Anyone know about Faust?
