Lenny Betts, The Grand Old Man of the Portsmouth (UK) and surrounding area folk scene for.... oh! hundreds of years passed away last week after a long illness.

Lenny was (and is) called 'a character'. Every folk club should have a 'Lenny'. Archivist, comedian, raconteur!

A better-than-adequate singer and muso, Lenny's intersong 'ramblings' were the stuff of legend and many a young folkie, starting out on their career will have stolen one or more of his surreal introductions.

An extremely sad loss to the folk world.

Lenny's funeral is at Porchester Crematorium (Near Portsmouth) at 12:30 on Tuesday 20th June
