Subject: BS: Bobert opening for 'Nighthawks'.... From: Bobert Date: 26 Mar 07 - 08:34 PM Well, well, well... This has been in the works for the last couple of weeks but the ink is now dry on the contracts and "Sidewalk Bob and the Pedestrians" will be opening for one of the worlds most famous blues bands on July 6th at the Stanley, Va. firehouse... Yeah, this is the biggest gig since my rock band opened for the Chambers Brothers back in '69... I am so psyched and would love to have any Catters who can make it show up and enjoy a night of some really fine blues... Bobert (Sidewalk Bob...) |

Subject: RE: BS: Bobert opening for 'Nighthawks'....July 6 From: Barry Finn Date: 27 Mar 07 - 12:19 AM You opened for the Chambers Brothers? I would've asked you for your John Hancock if'n I'd 've known that. Will you sign one of your checks & send it to me, make it out for a couple hundred. Thanks Bobert so kind of you. If you force me I'll travel to Stanley, Va for it but you'll have to add another $100 for the admission & travel expences, you can deduct them I'm all non-profit 100%. Have a good time. Barry |

Subject: RE: BS: Bobert opening for 'Nighthawks'....July 6 From: Bobert Date: 27 Mar 07 - 09:19 PM Yeah, thanks, guys.... I'm really excited about this... I played at the same festival with 'um a few years back but openin' is like real different... I'm allready thinkin' that their drummer will want to get in on it when I get that North Mississippi hillstomp thing going... It is an infectous sound for drummers.... Come on down, Barry... I promise you that comin' to this area of the country and hearin' both my band and the Nighthwaks will be a religious experience...... Bobert |

Subject: RE: Bobert opening for 'Nighthawks'....July 6 From: Bobert Date: 28 Mar 07 - 08:32 AM Let's see, Rap.... I open with a 40 minute set and then they do an 80 minute set and then take a 30 minute break during which I play so, accordin' to the Wes Ginny Slide Rule, I'll be playing for, ummmmm, 'bout an hour 'er so.... Not too sure the exact makeup ot "the Pedestrians" as yet but the one "fir sure" is Rinnie "Harmonica" Wendt and most likely our vary own Jim "Gutbucketeer" Bunch on bass and probably Marty the Drummer who has sat in a couple times with me... Rinnie and I have been playing some this winter at the Massanutten Ski Resort Lodge so he's up to speed on the North Mississippi groove that I've been playin' more and more of... BTW, if any of you'all Catters can make it, Stanley is 'bout 9 miles south of Luray which is 'bout 2 hours south of Washington, D.C. an 'bout 2700 miles east of Santa Barbara, California... That oughta get ya' all there... Bobert (alias Sidewalk Bob) |
